I have what I believe are a bunch of small black starfish hiding in my rocks in my tank. Their legs are always sticking out from crevasses in my rocks so you can never actually see their body. I remember seeing a bunch of these in a frag tank at Tiki corals last year.
It doesn’t appear that they’re doing any damage but it’s just annoying that there seems to be a lot of them. I can’t find any info on line about them. Anyone have any info on them or know a way to get rid of them?
I don’t know how to add photos but they look like small black bristle starfish.

Consider yourself lucky. If you need to get rid of any I'd be happy to take them off your hands. Leaving a little homemade trap in your tank overnight usually catches some.

I can sometimes pull them out. If you want, I can save them, but what purpose do they serve that you’d want them?

Any suggestions on how to make a homemade trap? They seem to be able to get in and out of anywhere.

Instructions there. A little sand or some rocks to hold it down, add some food at lights out and wait.

Apparently I had a fortune in my tank and didn't realize it.
