Fish World

IMO, this has been my go to place for QUALITY livestock and corals since moving to Richmond from Atlanta. Yes, Fish World does have higher prices, but I also don't have to worry about if a fish or coral is going to die, have ich, or is just in poor health. The quality of livestock and the availability of the more rare specimens is right up there with the many, many, many great stores down in Atlanta!

I've been to both Chester Aquaria and Richmond Aquarium, and cannot say anything more than they are just average, imo.

Kudos to Fish World!

I haven't been to FW in a Looooooong time. I like Joe but his prices were higher than most places. I love CA because it's close to me, good selection, and if I just want talk shop they always make time.

Haven't been to Fish World for several years but previous experiences were disappointing. Had them give me a quote on 210 gal. reef tank with a refugium sump. Although they were willing to do a refugium they did not seem knowledgeable and insisted on additional out-dated equipment.

Livestock prices were not posted and seemed to depend on how you were dressed.

Prices are written down on paper at the counter. They are high. But thats a reason I don't shop there

I like to stop by Fish World occasionally to see their giant display tanks. It's cool to see the big tangs and angels that aren't possible in smaller aquariums. From a newbie's perspective they definitely have the "wow" factor. I wish their prices were more easily accessible because I hate having to ask "how much for this?, how about that?, what about that one?" over and over again.

I also really like that super old maroon clownfish they have in the back room... Looks like Nemo's great-grandad
